Why is this restoration important?

Wishing Star Theater will be an establishment that is by the community, for the community. We want the revival of the old Delavan Theater to be much more than restoring a historic Delavan cornerstone; we aim to use this opportunity to create a diverse gathering space for the community and to further develop the thriving Delavan economy. Our goal is that our stage is not only a place where locals and visitors alike can enjoy quality entertainment, but also a place that can be a platform for the underserved voices in our community.

We want to bring together the people of Delavan, Walworth County, and beyond. To this end, the entertainment and events we host will be of a very wide variety, to ensure that everyone has something they will want to join us for. We will strive to serve the local families and the elderly community, providing entertainment that is appropriate for all ages. We will strive to serve the local hispanic community, providing a space that they can feel represented in. We will strive to serve the local deaf and blind community, providing accommodations that meet their unique needs. Wishing Star Theater will be a venue for all to use, share, and celebrate.

By bringing together Delavan, and Walworth County, residents from all backgrounds, ethnicities, and people groups, our goal is to grow our community’s bond through shared experiences of memorable entertainment.

Our wish is for the theater to remain as a cultural nexus for years to come. We want it to last beyond the revival and become a central part of the Delavan community.
